I was cheering for Lisa and Bruce all the way. A few things that could have made it better.... Lisa's parents house burning down with no insurance leaving them penniless and living in the copse in lovers lane. Ray overdosing and ending up in jail as a twink. Am enjoying the story so far and looking forward to more. Didn't like the overdosing of the Viagra, though. No doctor would suggest a patient take four times the recommended maximum dose. Your including it in your writing could well lead to someone (less than astute, perhaps) taking this dose.
That said, keep up the story-telling. I'll be watching for part 2.

First, demand that the doctors abide by their Hippocratic oath (first, do no harm). Depakote and lithium are almost worse than the disease. I KNOW! The mood swings can be next to impossible to prevent. For myself, I prefer to control the worst with sedatives as needed. The mood swings are part of who I am. For me, lack of sleep is a definite tell so that I can use some lorazepam to sleep off the worst of the mood swing. You need a cooperative doctor who will help you as a person instead of just another crazy. Sorry.

Well, I was laughing throughout the whole thing. I think it was slightly too dramatic to take seriously. Like being in status epilepticus for some unknown time in front of her daughter, that cant be controlled until examined at the er and given multiple drugs...and she lived to vent her urine and feces another day. So, they tried lorazepam, phenobarbitol, and valproate, but had to give up, intubate her and then give her propofol, the anesthetic that killed Michael Jackson, ketamine, and lidocaine in order to stop her hysteria. And they topped it off with xenon and nitrous oxide. Damn.
When I read this paratrooper will kill you, I don't think being serious was ever the intent. What's next, are you going to put on your robe and wizard hat?
But the ending and the use of a human choice and not a damn plot device to get to it was good. The length of conflict wasn't unnecessarily long. So, the best way to reconcile this with reality is that this is a joke.
