I take ativan for my flights. I didn't used to need to, but now I have the same problem as you. Not if something bad happens, but unable to get off being stuck. Ativan for me keeps me aware, but just shuts off the caring part of my brain. I take one, about an hour prior to boarding and everything is fine.
Within the past six months I got off the (aka)Elavil, and onto the highest dose of ambien er i can take. Ive taken it in the past. I switched because all my gastro drs were complaining about the Amitriptyline, so I did this to shut them up. There has been no change in my constipation issue. But I am dying of headaches and fatigue from crappy sleep!

I am getting between /2 hours sleep still having to use a strong combination of the above listed sleep aids. I also do the calm app for mindfulness sessions to deal with just about everything and the sleep stories really help me to relax and keep my mind from racing so I can get to sleep.
I have been taking 50 mg of Diphenhydramine (the active sleeping ingredient in Benadryl) a night since 2024, which I have continued throughout my pregnancy with my doctor's blessing. I have been told there's no known risk to baby. Between my snoring husband and never being able to shut my thoughts off, I really need it to sleep!
