do you know the term, paradoxial delirium? It is a sort of opposite to the desired effect of a drug. Opiates cause me to be filled with energy, jacked up isthe term some people use. it is like that for my siblings as well. It is a shame that a drug with such potential for easing pain can cause so much, but then, it is the individual who makes that choice, right?
Your poem was interesting. I don't know else to say, except, when you mention dilaudid, my right arm begins to ache and I feel rather queasy, and for some reason, that isn't such a bad thing, especially when my house needs cleaning.
I hope you aren't suffering in the way me and my sisters are. We have what we call our morphine prayer--

Just an addendum sent by a reader, I should now that I merely translated this story as dictated to me the Gorblaxian, so I think the error is on it
Just a little note...the human body does not secrete Oxycontin and while many addicts might consider it a love drug it's really just an extended release opiate used as a pain reliever. I believe the word you were looking for in your story was Oxytocin.

I'm not hating on the story. It's a fairy tale for the demographic mentioned above . It corresponds to reality about as much as Dolly Parton's platinum flowing bouffant. A fairly bland opiate for us muddled Loving Wives masses.Enjoy . This simile feels weak to me 'her smoky look like opium'. I'm not sure where to take it though, 'her smoky look an opiate' ?
This also feels weak to me 'into a close room brocaded with sin.' Why would a room be brocaded? I'm not sure how to strengthen it but brocaded gives the impression of the room being decorated with sin when surely it would be inhabited, housing, containing or caging, giving the impression sin was a living entity housed in the room?
