A really good story, thank you for writing.
Say what? What LYG said is on the mark. I should know because my father was bipolar and so is a good friend of mine. The mood swings caused by the chemical imbalance in their brain make a person with bipolar disorder do things that are bizarre. Would it cause someone to do what Justine did in the story? I don't know, I'm not a qualified professional.
Here's an acid test for you. Do you blame someone when they have heart disease? Probably not. It's not their fault that their heart is diseased. So why do you blame someone when their brain malfunctions due to a serotonin imbalance? If you think that it's all in their head, well, I guess on one level, you're right but probably not the way you think.
I'd like to thank you, leapyearguy, for a credible portrayal of the counselor. It was quite refreshing.
